In the last one hundred years science has methodically been expanding the possibilities of expression, while advances in culture have been attached to economic viability. These potentials for expression still lay vastly untouched. Unfortunately we cannot understand or utilize the options to their fullest extent without removing the limitations within our own mind.
This series is an attempt to remove the limitations in my mind. I present these objects as a segue into the beauty and randomness of life. I can give no explanation other than a reflection of the world around me including things that are real and things I wish to be real. Questioning familiarity is my main drive. How does experience affect you? Where are the limits of form and function? Why not?, is the reason and the work is play.
Using combinations of imagery with combinations of materials to represent these ideas, I hope to spark inspiration in the viewer, further expanding the range of possibilities available to us. Let the pieces play with your mind, not always what they are, but what they can be, what they will be when the next step in their development is complete.
By thinking about these range of works at once, instead of series by series, I am interested in cross fertilizing material use and forming possibilities to further this growth. Each individual work is intended to be a tangent to a more specific series which will allow the evolution of possibilities to be revealed.
